This 6 month contract role seeks an HR Consultant to actively manage a performance management project and provide support in employee relations cases. The consultant will embed best practices, deliver commercial outcomes and actively engage in governance forums. Collaboration with the existing DA HR support including the People Advisory Service (PAS) and the DA HR Business Partner (HRBP) team, is essential for seamless and high quality HR service delivery. The role requires strong experience in performance management and employee relations at a senior level.

Roles and Responsibilities

Client/Project Management:

  • Support the PAS Lead in delivering the performance management project in DA including designing the project plan and metrics for improved delivery and conclusion of existing cases via Management Information (MI).
  • Keep key senior business and HR sponsors updated on progress and address any barriers.
  • Identify challenges needing input from others and ensure their swift resolution to maintain progress and meet deadlines.
  • Lead and assist in upskilling performance leaders, senior managers and People Advisors in performance management and other relevant HR/ER areas.

Employee Relations:

  • Resolve complex people issues with a focus on commercially pragmatic outcomes, escalating when necessary.
  • Conduct risk assessments with the Employment Law Advisory Team (ELAT) and escalate relevant issues to DA Senior HR Business Partners, PAS Lead and ER Manager.
  • Demonstrate high competency in applying employment law, staying updated with changes.
  • Assist stakeholders in implementing HR policies and processes.
  • Design and draft non standard correspondence as needed.
  • Act as the expert point of contact for ER matters and coach stakeholders on the performance management process and delivering difficult messages.

Management Information:

  • Collaborate with the People Information team to produce appropriate MI for DA Leadership.
  • Enhance MI through analysis and executive summaries.
  • Identify trends in information and recommend suitable actions.
