Job Description

Gardener/Senior Gardener

Your role will be to showcase the natural splendor of the environment that our guests come to experience! Your keen attention to detail will be instrumental in the care and maintenance of ornamental plants, shrubs and trees across the hotel grounds and selected golf course locations.

These are full time seasonal positions scheduled to run from April until September/October 2024.

Pay Rate

  • Gardener: $19.00 per hour
  • Senior Gardener: $21.35 per hour

What You’ll be Doing

  • Consistently provide a professional and friendly greeting while delivering engaging service.
  • Maintain and groom gardens to ensure a high level of aesthetic quality throughout the hotel property.
  • Operate mechanical and power equipment used in the maintenance of ornamental plants and trees.
  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Gardening Department (Senior Gardener).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your Experience and Skills Include:

  • Knowledge of the characteristics and cultural requirements of ornamental plants, shrubs and trees adapted to the region is an asset.
  • Must possess knowledge, experience or skills in basic gardening or other horticulture related areas.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s license with a clean record is required.

Physical Aspects of the Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50+ lbs.
  • Regular kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting tasks.
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps.

Additional Information

Visa Requirements: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel cannot assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
